1  MARCOLIN has finalized the acquisition of ic! berlin. Marcolin takes full control of the company, integrating within its organization approximately 140 employees located at the Berlin headquarters and manufacturing plant, and in two subsidiaries in Japan and the U.S.

2  ESSILORLUXOTTICA and Moncler have signed an exclusive licensing agreement that includes the design, production and global distribution of Moncler eyewear. The agreement will be in effect from January 2024 until December 2028.

3  TURA has entered into a multi-year distribution agreement with Barbour to introduce Barbour Eyewear to the North American market starting January 2024.

4  Independent brands THEO, J.F. REY and JOHN DALIA have created a consortium and are taking over the activities of CEMO-DECOVISION. To mark this new dynamic, the company is being named ATELIER CEMO. The new owners position themselves as ambassadors of Made in Jura and Made in France to the eyewear industry and their customers, with the goal to highlight the factory’s know-how to promote the quality and authenticity of the products manufactured.

5  THE VISION COUNCIL has appointed Suzanne Krauss as the organization’s new director of trade shows. In her new role, Suzanne will collaborate closely with The Vision Council’s strategic partners at RX, who co-organize Vision Expo East and West, with a focus on driving opportunities for growth and development at these events.

6  VSP VISION has donated $150,000 to Helen Keller Intl and $50,000 to five regional food banks across the U.S. in addition to free eyecare and eyewear. The $200,000 give is a part of the company’s Giving Season initiative, which focuses on the connection between good nutrition and eye health.

7  PREVENT BLINDNESS president and CEO Jeff Todd has been named the chair of the National Health Council board of directors for 2024.

8  KARUN EYEWEAR, a company based in Patagonia that is dedicated to sustainability, has expanded into the U.S. with Walmart as its national retailer.

9  SAFILO has announced the signing of the deeds for the transfer of the two business units related to the Longarone plant to Thelios SpA and Innovatek Srl, respectively.

10  COSTA has formed a new partnership with the Eddie Aikau Foundation, becoming an official sponsor of the 39th Annual Eddie Aikau Big Wave International.

11  KNOCKAROUND, the San Diego, Calif., based eyewear company, has moved into the prescription space through a partnership with EyeMart.

12  MARCOLIN has opened its new showroom in Paris located on the second floor of a historical building in Rue De Richelieu. The new showroom, designed by Milan-based design studio Navone Associati, comprises offices and a large exhibition space dedicated to Marcolin’s portfolio brands.
