I love Vision Expo East! I’ve been attending since the early days of OptiFair and subway tokens, and have watched the show grow into something quite spectacular that you can get to with a MetroCard. VEE just gets bigger and better every year. It’s as though you can circumnavigate the whole optical world by staying in one place.

This year, at Manhattan’s Jacob Javits Center from March 21 through 24, you can see and experience the latest in equipment, frames, instruments, lenses and coatings, sunglasses and more. There are Pavilions and Neighborhoods, each with its own curated collections and ambiance. And of course, there’s education. VEE offers more than 200 courses for optometrists, opticians, technicians and business people, and has partnered with OptiCon for training toward certifications. Some courses are free, courtesy of generous sponsors. Reconnect and network with fellow professionals at courses, events and lounges. Keep the excitement ramped up with the various vendor and VEE contests.

Don’t forget shopping at the show! Browsing the latest frame designs for the colors and styles that will put your practice on the cutting edge of optical fashion isn’t the only thing to do. Learn about new lens designs that will give patients that “WOW!” moment of quality vision, as well as the equipment that will define your practice as having the best in vision care technology. Check out frames that take photos and videos—when you see a moment you want to save, you can! How about glasses that help the colorblind? As for contact lenses, what would you think of a photochromic contact lens or having your own contact lens subscription service? You can find out about them at the show, along with other innovative contact lens materials and designs. Want to spruce up your office? There are display and design services. Are your practice POS software and practice management systems up to date? You’ll find solutions at VEE.

Virtually everything and anything associated with vision care is on display. The best things to take with you from the show, though, are what I take: knowledge, enthusiasm and ideas. I can’t wait to share my takeaways with coworkers and patients. It’s great to be able to say, “I saw the latest …” and to be able to talk about it. Oh, and don’t forget to stop by Jobson’s booth #2875. You can pick up copies of 20/20, Vision Monday and more of our publications that keep you informed all year long. What’s more, you can stay at the top of your game and keep your continuing education going any time after VEE with our CEs at 2020mag.com/ce.

See you at Vision Expo East!
