Was it all an optical illusion or a beautiful new eyewear collection? Guests at an exclusive event celebrating the launch of the 2017 Valentino Eyewear collection from LUXOTTICA experienced both firsthand. “Valentino Mirage” treated guests to an interactive “Change of Perspective” experience at Palazzo Clerici in Milan, coinciding with Milan fashion week. The event was created in collaboration with Real Live LLC, producers of the renowned “Sleep No More” show and creators of New York City’s famous McKittrick Hotel. Notable attendees included Valentino creative director Pierpaolo Piccioli, Alberta Ferretti, Scott Schuman, Eleonora Carisi, Vera Arrivabene, Linda Tol, Evangelie Smyrniotaki, Nicole Warne and Jenny Walton.

The event marks the debut of Valentino Eyewear from Luxottica following the signing of its license agreement with the brand. The collection pays homage to the beauty and individuality of contemporary women while rediscovering the main characteristics of Valentino fashion—a modern vision going beyond the rules yet embracing a blend of styles to express uniqueness. This aesthetic is highlighted in the eyewear via a charming mix of sensual meshed with punk metal designs featuring glam crystals and nylon. The iconic Valentino stud is ingrained on each frame’s temple tips, a symbolic tribute to the fashion house’s legacy.
