20/20 TAKE:
This iconic Ray-Ban design from the early ’50s is making waves in a big way—this time for kids. Its flattering shape is available in the coolest colorways that will make any kid feel grown up.

As we sorted through hundreds of frames this month for our annual children’s issue, we saw a plethora of “kid-friendly” colors, textures and patterns. In between the usual assortment of blues, pinks and purples, I stumbled upon this gold Ray-Ban duo from LUXOTTICA that stopped me in my tracks. The optical style 1051 featured here in navy and gold has a full metal front that is retro yet classically cool. Because we see far too many children walking around without sun protection, we decided to include a matching sunglass this month as well. Modeled after the classic adult Signet sunwear style

from Ray-Ban, mini version style 9540S has the same flat bar construction, double bridge and thin linear temples with horizontal “pin-stripe” laser engravings. Kids can rock these unisex frames giving them the option of matching either mom or dad, making it the perfect 20/20 Frame of the Month duo.
