It sure looks like bass player Noel Redding is having a “moment” of product lust for Jimi Hendrix’s ginormous shades. And perhaps drummer Mitch Mitchell has just been informed he can’t have the intensely personality-infused shades either. In any case, Hendrix sets the SEEN easily in a trick well played by numerous rock icons seemingly forever: Cop some woman’s massive suns, and you’ve got yourself an image maker and taker.

Visit alecbyrnearchive.com in order to peruse many of the other images by Byrne and also have a look at his book London Rock with its rich treasure of rock and pop culture captures. In a future issue, we’ll be detailing more info about this incredible book and the pioneering photographer Alec Byrne.
