Avalon hones in on the hot female teen demo graphic in eyewear with a collection of glasses bearing the brand popularity of J-14, surely a top contender as the favorite celebrity and entertainment news magazine “just for teens.” The aim is as clever as the name with nine new styles, four in plastic and five in metal. The female demographic is the 10 through 17 age group. Their active lifestyle is addressed by spring hinges and their cool-quota is pleased by inlaid J-14 logos on the temple tips. Colors include grape, gloss black, purple haze, indigo, garnet, plum, black cherry, chocolate, pewter and blush in shapes such as rectangle, cat eye, butterfly, retro and oval.
PHILOSOPHY: “In search of styles worn by their favorite celebrities, young teens want to have their own identity and create their own look. While reflecting the unique spirit of J-14, the collection provides them with the ideal accessory for making their own fashion statement. The relationship enables teen consumers to create a branding connection between the popular teen magazine and eyewear,” says Jill Giorgio, Director of Product Development.
MARKETING: Merchandising materials include multi-frame counter displays and single frame displays with prominent logo designs. Eyewear comes with “roll-over” case in signature colors of orange, hot pink and lime green.
