SHAMIR INSIGHT celebrated the launch of its new Driver Intelligence lens at a special event on July 24 at the San Diego Automotive Museum. The launch event featured speakers from within and outside the optical industry, along with consumer testimonials. Professional motorsports racing driver Sebastien Bourdais shared his positive experience with Driver Intelligence. Gary Gerber, OD, chief myopia eradication officer of Treehouse Eyes offered insights about the importance and need of this lens design in the driving community.

A total of 80 guests attended the event, including representatives from local news outlets, race magazine media, optical publications and prescription labs, as well as local first responders, social media influencers and eyecare professionals. Guests had an opportunity to experience Driver Intelligence using driving simulators that compared a standard progressive lens to Driver Intelligence.

As part of its partnership with Renault Group’s BWT Alpine F1 Team, Shamir worked closely with the team to develop and test Driver Intelligence on the racetrack. The lens optimizes visual performance and is designed to deliver superior clarity for drivers in both day and night conditions, according to Shamir Insight.
