Inspirational Sources — This illustration appeared in a 20/20 advertisement for Varilux Comfort Lenses in the September 1996 issue of 20/20. The text of its message challenged eyecare professionals to focus on the future. And yet it was the art that even more clearly stated the full scenario of building on that future well-versed in the past. So this visual made its case with a woodcut illustration, some lenses in a frame and the photographic images of both the patient and the professional. This art is, in fact, one of the key inspirations 20/20 reviewed during the creation of the Parting Glance page that has now appeared in every issue of 20/20 for the last 10 years.
